A team of detectives from Gujungu Division’s Surveillance Unit successfully recovered a stolen Kia Sorento with registration number GWL 225 BB. The vehicle was stolen on July 14, 2025, at Gugungu Market in Taura Local Government Area. Through diligent investigation and effective use of community intelligence, the police traced and intercepted the vehicle at Kanya Babba village in Babura Local Government Area. The vehicle has since been released to its rightful owner after due verification.

In a separate operation, the police arrested Abubakar Sadi, a 25-year-old man from Kano State, for alleged cable vandalism. Sadi was apprehended at the scene, while his accomplices escaped into the bush.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the group consists of five members, all from Kano State.

The police also foiled a drug trafficking bid and arrested Isah Mohd, recovering several exhibits, including rubber solution, D5 tablets, Exol tablets, Tramadol capsules, and dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Dahiru, commended the operatives for their swift action and reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the state.
