Deji Adeleke’s 1250MW Power Plant Ready, Awaits Gas Grid Link
Business mogul and Pro-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has announced the completion of his 1250 megawatt power plant located in Ajebamidele, Ondo State.
The multi-billion-naira facility is poised to generate thousands of jobs and significantly boost Nigeria’s power supply once it is connected to the national gas grid.
Speaking on Sunday during the 11th undergraduate and 7th postgraduate convocation ceremonies of Adeleke University in Ede, Osun State, Dr. Adeleke revealed that the plant is fully constructed but unable to commence operations due to the delay in gas grid linkage.
He added that over 2,000 engineers and other professionals would be employed once the plant becomes operational.
At the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke, his younger brother, was also conferred with an honorary doctorate degree.
Dr. Adeleke took the opportunity to criticize Nigeria’s electoral system, describing it as a major obstacle to attracting foreign direct investment.
He cited widespread vote buying, electoral violence, and manipulation as issues that have damaged the credibility of the country’s democracy in the eyes of the international community.
