Coalition against President Tinubu by Atiku, Fayemi, El- rufai, significant Development in Nigerian politics.

A coalition aiming to snatch power from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Kayode Fayemi and estranged former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has been formed.

The coalition’s primary objective is to end President Tinubu’s rule by 2027, and they have raised several concerns about the President’s recent actions, particularly the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

The coalition has condemned the President’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State as “unlawful” and “a clear subversion of democracy.”

Atiku Abubakar, has argued that the President’s actions are driven by “petty favouritism” and a betrayal of the oath of office. The coalition believes that the President’s decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State is an overreach of executive power and an attempt to impose autocratic federal control over a duly elected state government.

The coalition has noted that the protracted political crisis in Rivers State, which culminated in the recent ruling of the Supreme Court, was a catalyst for the President’s declaration of a state of emergency.

The coalition has argued that despite the provocative statements and belligerent attitude of his opponents, Governor Fubara had demonstrated goodwill and appeared disposed to the implementation of the ruling of the Supreme Court.

However, the President’s decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State has undermined the democratic institutions and principles of Nigeria.

The launch of the coalition against President Tinubu by Atiku, Fayemi, and El-Rufai marks a significant development in Nigerian politics. The coalition’s objectives, concerns, and strategies will likely shape the political landscape in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, with potential implications for the country’s stability, governance, and democratic institutions.
