NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

A total of 179,201 candidates registered for the exam, which took place from May 12 to May 23, 2025, across 12 subjects.

The results were made available after the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting in Minna, Niger State. Dr. Folake David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and chairperson of the Award Committee, expressed satisfaction with the examination process.

Candidates who didn’t meet the minimum requirements will have a chance to re-take Mathematics and English Studies on July 23-24, 2025. The Award Committee, comprising secondary school principals and NECO management, approved the date and timetable for the re-sit exams.

The BECE is a crucial assessment for students transitioning from junior to senior secondary school in Nigeria. NECO has reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining credible and transparent examinations.
