Aisha Yesufu Canvasses Women in Leadership inclusion for ADC

Socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu has called on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition to prioritize meaningful inclusion of women and youths in its leadership structure.

In a recent post, Yesufu urged the coalition’s leaders to ensure that women and young people are not just token representatives but are actively involved in decision-making roles.

The ADC coalition was recently unveiled as a platform for the 2027 opposition coalition, with former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola appointed as interim National Chairman and Secretary, respectively.

Yesufu emphasized the importance of numbers and fresh ideas, encouraging young Nigerians and women to join the coalition and contribute to its leadership. She stressed that the coalition’s success depends on the active participation of women and youths, who should be given a platform to bring their perspectives and ideas to the table.

The ADC coalition aims to challenge the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Its leaders have expressed commitment to building a strong opposition platform that can provide a credible alternative to the ruling party.
