ADC Gets Alternative Venue for Unveiling After Being Shut Out by Wells Carlton Hotel

The African Democratic Congress-led coalition has found a new venue for its unveiling ceremony after the Wells Carlton Hotel in Abuja abruptly cancelled the booking due to an “internal compliance matter”.

The event will now take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2 pm on Wednesday.

According to ADC’s Deputy National Secretary, Nkem Ukandu, members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and other key stakeholders are expected to attend the ceremony, noting that attendance is self-sponsored.

The hotel’s cancellation sparked outrage among opposition leaders, who accused the APC-led government of political interference. Dele Momodu alleged that the hotel management feared reprisals from APC operatives, while Salihu Lukman accused the hotel of breaching a valid contract.

Despite the setback, the opposition coalition remains determined to proceed with its plans. The ADC is being positioned as the adopted platform for a new opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 elections, with prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and Nasir El-Rufai backing the movement.
