Oyo ADC Hails Appointment of David Mark, Aregbesola, Ajadi as Interim National Leaders

The Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has congratulated former Senate President David Mark, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and Dr. Bamidele Ganiyu Ajadi on their appointment as the Interim National Chairman, Interim National Secretary, and Deputy National Chairman of the party, respectively.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Barrister Bimpe Adelowo, and made available to the media on Tuesday, the state leadership of the ADC, led by Alhaji Yinka Olona, expressed confidence in the newly appointed interim national leaders, describing the trio as “a valuable and worthy combination” capable of restoring stability and sanity to Nigeria’s politics and governance.

“We, the State Executives, Coalition Partners, Stakeholders, and esteemed members of Oyo State ADC, extend our warm congratulations and best wishes on your appointment,” the statement read.

The party further described Nigeria’s current political and economic climate as one in need of urgent intervention, citing worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and what it described as unreliable leadership under the present administration.

“Nigeria is bleeding,” the statement noted. “But with you leading the coalition against bad governance and maladministration, Nigerians will heave a sigh of relief.”

The Oyo ADC expressed hope that under the new leadership, the party would regain its footing as a viable coalition platform capable of returning Nigeria to “a path of peace and prosperity” where democracy thrives and unity among ethnic groups is preserved.

The party also reaffirmed its unwavering support for the interim national leadership, pledging full cooperation and alignment with their vision for the ADC and the country at large.

“We pledge our unalloyed support and commitment and look forward to cooperating with your leadership to further strengthen and realize the aims and objectives of the coalition,” the statement added.

The appointments come at a critical time for the ADC, as the party positions itself for a broader role in the national political landscape ahead of future elections.
