ADC Planned Unveiling Ruined as Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Abuja Cancels Booking
The planned unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a unified opposition platform has hit a snag after the event venue cancelled its booking just hours before the scheduled event.
The Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments in Abuja cited an “internal compliance matter” as the reason for the cancellation.
The event was expected to bring together top opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
However, the hotel’s management apologized for the short notice and inconvenience caused.
Opposition figures have reacted sharply to the cancellation, with Dele Momodu alleging political interference and intimidation by the government. Salihu Lukman, on behalf of People and Passion Consult Ltd, accused the hotel of breaching a valid contract and demanded that the event be allowed to proceed as planned.
Despite the setback, opposition figures remain determined to challenge the ruling party in the 2027 general elections.
