APC Sets July 24 NEC Meeting to Pick Ganduje’s Replacement
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled an emergency meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) for July 24, 2025, to formally nominate a new National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
This resolution was reached during the party’s first National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on Monday under the leadership of the Acting National Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori.
Ganduje stepped down last Friday after mounting internal and external pressures.
In a statement to the media, the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, confirmed that a formal notice of the upcoming NEC meeting has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the party’s constitutional provisions.
Addressing party leaders at the meeting, Dalori acknowledged the weight of responsibility placed upon him and called for unity within the APC ranks. “We must avoid utterances and actions that will further polarize our party,” he said, urging NWC members to remain committed to the ideals of cohesion and stability.
The July 24 meeting is expected to be a turning point for the ruling party as it navigates internal restructuring and prepares for future electoral contests.
