Stun Gun-weilding Pastor Adefarasin Released on Bail

The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has been granted bail by the Lagos State Police Command after being questioned over a viral video that showed him holding a gun-like object.

The cleric had turned himself in on Tuesday, following which he was interrogated by the police.

According to the police, Adefarasin volunteered a cautionary statement to the investigators, during which he explained the circumstances surrounding the video.

The police also recovered a stun gun from the pastor, which was identified as the object seen in the viral video.

The Lagos State Police Command clarified that the stun gun is not a lethal weapon or firearm, but rather a prohibited anti-riot equipment.

The police statement read: “What was recovered from him, the gun-like object seen in the viral video, is not a lethal weapon or firearm but a stun gun which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment.”

It is unclear what prompted Pastor Adefarasin to possess the stun gun, but the police have confirmed that he has been released on bail pending further investigation.

The incident has sparked widespread debate and discussion on social media, with many calling for greater accountability and transparency from religious leaders.

The House on the Rock Church has not issued an official statement on the matter, but it is expected that the church will address the issue in due course.

The police have assured the public that they will continue to investigate the matter and take necessary actions to ensure that the law is upheld.

In the meantime, Pastor Adefarasin’s release on bail has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing relief that the cleric has been freed, while others have called for tougher action to be taken against him.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in all aspects of society, including religious institutions.
