Dangote Refinery Takes Delivery of 4,000 CNG Trucks for Fuel Distribution

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has taken delivery of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered trucks to enhance fuel distribution across Nigeria.
These trucks will commence nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and diesel starting August 15, 2025. The refinery’s plan includes establishing over 100 CNG refueling stations nationwide, boosting accessibility and reducing dependence on diesel and petrol.
The initiative is part of Dangote’s strategic push to ensure steady, efficient, and environmentally friendly fuel distribution.
The company is investing in CNG stations, commonly referred to as daughter booster stations, supported by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers across the country.
This move aims to transform Nigeria’s fuel logistics landscape, reduce logistics costs, and make energy more accessible.
Dangote’s commitment to sustainable and cleaner energy logistics is underscored by the deployment of CNG-powered trucks, which will significantly reduce carbon emissions.
The company’s plan to offer free logistics support for the nationwide supply of fuel will also ease capital pressures on marketers and dealers.
The development is expected to create ripple effects in the transport and energy sectors, positioning Dangote Refinery as a direct distributor and challenging local fuel traders.
Energy experts see this move as a game-changer, potentially stabilizing the market and leading Nigeria into a more energy-resilient future.
