Osun APC Governorship Primaries Will Be Friendly Contest,Says Oyebamiji

A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has assured that the party’s governorship primary election will be a “friendly contest” among the contenders.

Oyebamiji, who is also the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways (NIWA), made this statement over the weekend at a prayer session held in his hometown of Ikire.

According to Oyebamiji, the APC governorship primary is a “family affair” that will be conducted in a peaceful and harmonious manner, with all contenders being “brothers of a formidable progressive family”.

He emphasized that the party is known for its values of peace, integrity, unity, internal democracy, and pro-masses democratic tenets and ideologies.

Oyebamiji expressed confidence that the party’s primary election will be a “friendly match” that will be played with ease and unity, with the ultimate goal of emerging victorious in the governorship poll.

“As progressives, we are known for peace and harmony, and our governorship primary is going to be a friendly match that we will play with ease, unity, because just only one person is going to emerge, and anyone that emerges, we are going to support him and subsequently will emerge victorious as Governor of Osun State,” he said.

The APC aspirant also spoke about the importance of the annual prayer session, which was held in his hometown. He stated that the party believes in the efficacy of prayer and has been organizing the session to pray for the stability of the community, state, and country at large.

Oyebamiji expressed his happiness at the impressive turnout of people, particularly the Muslim Ummah, and stated that the congregation had prayed for the country, state, and community, and firmly believes that their prayers have been answered.

The APC governorship primary election in Osun State is expected to be a highly contested affair, with several aspirants vying for the party’s ticket.

However, Oyebamiji’s assurance of a “friendly contest” has raised hopes that the party will be able to conduct a peaceful and transparent primary election, which will ultimately strengthen the party’s chances of winning the governorship poll.
