Sack Inefficient Ministers, Security Chiefs, Says Senator Orji Kalu
Senator Orji Kalu, representing Abia North, has advised President Bola Tinubu to take drastic measures to revamp his administration by relieving certain ministers and security chiefs of their duties due to their perceived ineffectiveness.
In an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” program on Monday, Kalu expressed his concerns about the performance of some members of the federal cabinet, stating that they have failed to make a significant impact on Nigeria’s development.
The former Governor of Abia State emphasized the need for President Tinubu to make “bold decisions” to realign his administration with the expectations of Nigerians. Kalu specifically called for the sacking of ministers who, in his opinion, are not performing up to par.
“I’ve appraised them, and I’ve talked to him privately. Most of these ministers should go, and that is the truth,” Kalu said, urging the President to take a firm stance in addressing the issue.
Furthermore, Kalu advocated for the replacement of several security chiefs, citing the need for a more effective approach to tackle the country’s security challenges.
“If he takes my advice, some of the security chiefs will also go. There is no sentiment about redeeming Nigeria if we really want to relieve Nigeria,” he stated.
Kalu’s comments come as the Tinubu administration continues to face mounting pressure to address the country’s numerous challenges, including insecurity, economic stagnation, and corruption. The Senator’s call for a cabinet shake-up is likely to spark intense debate and speculation about the future of certain ministers and security chiefs.
