JAMB Releases Make-up UTME Results over Glitch Earlier Experienced
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit, which was conducted for candidates who were affected by technical glitches at various centers.
According to a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, on Sunday morning, a total of 336,845 candidates were rescheduled to take the examination.
However, surprisingly, 21,082 candidates failed to show up for the rescheduled exam, with no reason given for their absence.
The release of the results brings relief to the affected candidates who had been waiting anxiously to know their fate.
The UTME resit was conducted to provide an opportunity for candidates who were unable to take the exam due to technical issues to do so.
JAMB’s decision to release the results is seen as a positive step towards ensuring that the affected candidates are not disadvantaged in the admission process.
The board has been working tirelessly to address the technical challenges that arose during the initial exam, and the release of the rescheduled results is a testament to their commitment to fairness and transparency.
The high rate of absenteeism among candidates, however, raises concerns about the possible reasons behind it.
While JAMB did not provide any explanation for the absence of over 21,000 candidates, it is likely that some candidates may have been deterred by the uncertainty surrounding the rescheduled exam or may have encountered other challenges that prevented them from taking the exam.
As the admission process for the 2025 academic session begins, JAMB’s release of the rescheduled results will provide clarity and direction for the affected candidates.
The board has assured candidates that their results will be used for admission purposes, and institutions will begin to announce their admission lists soon.
In the meantime, candidates who took the rescheduled exam are advised to check their results on the JAMB website or at designated centers.
The release of the results marks an important milestone in the admission process, and candidates are urged to stay informed and follow the necessary procedures to ensure a smooth transition to their desired institutions.
