Tinubu Inducts Helicopters to Air force Platform, Promises More to Combat Insurgency

 

President Bola Tinubu has inducted two trekker helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fleet.

 

The induction ceremony, which took place in Abuja on Friday, was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented the President.

 

The addition of the two helicopters, NAF544 and NAF545, is expected to strengthen the air power of the military, enabling it to more effectively tackle the security challenges facing the nation.

 

The induction ceremony coincided with the 61st anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force, marking a major milestone in the country’s aviation history.

 

According to sources, the two trekker helicopters are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and are designed to provide enhanced surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat capabilities.

 

The aircraft are expected to play a critical role in supporting ground troops and enhancing the overall security of the country.

 

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Vice President Shettima emphasized the importance of air power in modern warfare, noting that the induction of the two helicopters demonstrates the administration’s commitment to strengthening the country’s security apparatus.

 

“The security of our nation is of utmost importance, and we are committed to providing our military with the necessary tools and resources to effectively tackle the security challenges we face.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, also spoke at the ceremony, highlighting the significance of the induction and the role the helicopters will play in enhancing the country’s air power.

 

“The Nigerian Air Force is committed to providing air support to our ground troops and enhancing the security of our nation.

 

“The induction of these two helicopters is a major boost to our capabilities, and we are confident that they will enable us to more effectively respond to security threats and protect our nation’s interests,” Abubakar said.
