Don Jazzy Donates N5 Million to Woman Seeking Treatment for Recurring Ear Keloids

Nigerian music executive and producer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has donated N5m to Nancy Chidinma, who is raising funds for the treatment of recurring ear keloids.

Don Jazzy, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mavin Records, announced the donation on Saturday through his X account with a brief post confirming that the money had been sent.

Chidinma, who had appealed for N7m to complete her treatment, expressed gratitude to the music executive for responding to her plea.

In a post on X, she said she had yet to receive a credit alert but believed the delay might be related to her bank.

She also thanked members of the public who helped amplify her appeal by tagging Don Jazzy, reposting her messages and encouraging others to support her.

Chidinma subsequently shared an alternative bank account for donors who had encountered difficulties while attempting to make payments.

Her fundraising campaign was launched to cover the cost of surgery and follow-up treatment for keloids that have repeatedly developed around her ears.

She had been receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital but said delays in securing a surgery appointment had affected her treatment process.

According to the treatment plan explained to her by a consultant at the hospital, she would require surgical removal of the keloids followed by radiotherapy and other post-operative care aimed at reducing the likelihood of recurrence.

She estimated the surgery at N1.2m, while two radiotherapy sessions were expected to cost N2.5m each.

Additional post-operative treatment, including chemotherapy, injections, medication and silicone creams, was estimated at about N2m.

The total projected cost of treatment was put at N8.2m.

Chidinma had already raised N1.2m before appealing to the public for the remaining N7m needed to proceed with the treatment.

Don Jazzy’s N5m contribution significantly reduces the outstanding amount required to fund her treatment.
