Lagos NURTW Chairman Sego Declares End to Feud With MC Oluomo
Lagos State chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Tafa Sego, has publicly declared that his rift with the union’s national president, Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, is over.
In a video circulating online on Thursday, Sego said there is no longer any war between him and Oluomo. The post accompanying the clip also thanked Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly called KWAM 1, whom it described as the Mayegun of Yorubaland, for his relentless efforts in securing the peace.
The declaration follows a reconciliation brokered by KWAM 1 in September at Ojusagbola in Ijebu, Ogun State, where several union chieftains gathered. Reports at the time described the two men as former allies whose relationship had soured over the years.
Sego took over as Lagos chairman when Oluomo moved up to lead the union nationally, but the two later fell out. A peace accord signed in January 2025 with the Lagos State Government’s involvement was followed by further signs of friction. At a later gathering, Sego’s loyalists reportedly reacted angrily when KWAM 1 publicly recognised Oluomo as head of the union.
Some social media users doubted the September show of unity, pointing to the body language in photographs from the event. Whether the latest declaration holds will be watched closely by union members across Lagos.
