Scrap JAMB, NYSC, TETFund, NELFUND over Bureaucratic Failures, Says Sowore

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the outright scrapping of several major Nigerian institutions, citing what he described as their bureaucratic inefficiency and failure to serve national interests.

The agencies he named include the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Sowore made the remarks in a scathing post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he labeled the agencies “useless” and “extracurricular bureaucratic busybodies.”

His comments came in the wake of a public admission by JAMB regarding major technical disruptions
