Super Falcons Take in Lionesses of Cameroon in. Double-Header Friendly
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s senior female national team, will play a double-header international friendly match against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.
The matches are scheduled to take place on May 31st and June 3rd, with the second leg being held at the newly renovated MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the friendly matches are part of the team’s preparations for upcoming international competitions.
Gusau made this known during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday.
The first leg of the friendly match will be played on May 31st at the Remo Stars Stadium, while the second leg will take place on June 3rd at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex.
The NFF boss expressed his excitement about hosting the match in Abeokuta, stating that it will be a great opportunity for football fans in the state to watch the Super Falcons in action.
In a related development, Gusau also announced that the MKO Abiola Sports Complex will host the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Under-17 Championship in September 2025. The tournament will feature teams from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Togo, Benin, Ghana, and Nigeria, and is expected to be a thrilling competition for young footballers in the region.
