Former members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have opened a new office for their forum in Akure, the state capital.

The move is aimed at strengthening the association and contributing to governance and development in the state.

The Forum of Former Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly brings together lawmakers from various assemblies. It was set up to promote unity among its members and offer advisory support on governance issues.

Speaking at the unveiling, former Majority Leader Olugbenga Araoyinbo said the new office reflected the group’s determination to build a stronger structure for the future. He noted that the experience, networks and knowledge of former lawmakers remain valuable assets that can help strengthen public institutions.

Araoyinbo also acknowledged the support of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a former member of the state assembly. He said the minister had identified with the forum from the beginning and continued to show commitment to its goals.

The former lawmakers reaffirmed their support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition and praised Tunji-Ojo’s performance in the Federal Government. Stakeholders at the event stressed that the experience of former legislators could be useful for policy direction and improved governance in the state.
