In a heartwarming celebration, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the esteemed leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, marked his 99th birthday with a message of hope and optimism for Nigeria’s future.

 

The nonagenarian’s birthday ceremony, held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, was attended by dignitaries from across the country, including President Bola Tinubu and governors from the six South-Western states.

 

Fasoranti’s assertion that Nigeria is on the path to greatness was met with enthusiasm, as he attributed his confidence to the current administration’s vision and policies. The elder statesman’s remarks were seen as a testament to his unwavering faith in the country’s potential, despite past setbacks.

 

His comments were particularly significant, given his reputation as a respected voice in Nigerian politics and a champion of Yoruba rights.

 

The birthday celebration was an opportunity for leaders to pay tribute to Fasoranti’s remarkable life and legacy. President Tinubu described him as a shining example of leadership, while governors from the South-Western states praised his selfless service, dedication to education, and commitment to human development.

 

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State hailed Fasoranti as a symbol of patriotism and integrity, whose life has inspired generations of Nigerians.
