Abeokuta North Local Government Enacts Open Grazing Ban, Unveils Development Projects
The Abeokuta North Local Government Council in Ogun State has passed a new bye-law prohibiting open grazing and mandating the compulsory registration of all livestock and herders within its jurisdiction.
Local council authorities stated that the legislative measure is aimed at preventing farmer-herder conflicts, safeguarding agricultural farmland, enhancing local security, and fostering peaceful coexistence among residents.
Alongside the enforcement of the anti-open grazing policy, the local government leadership also commissioned series of newly completed community infrastructure projects designed to improve public service delivery and boost local economic activities across the council area.
