Niger State Assures of New Permanent NYSC Camp Within 12 Months

The Niger State Government has promised to complete a new permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps within the next 12 months.

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago made the commitment during the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the ultramodern facility in Paiko.

The governor said funds for the project have already been appropriated. He warned the contractor against any delays and expressed confidence that phase one of the camp would be ready for commissioning within a year.

Bago stated that the new camp would feature modern facilities designed to improve the training and welfare of corps members. The project is expected to provide a more conducive environment for the orientation exercise.

The groundbreaking event marks a significant step toward addressing long-standing challenges with temporary or inadequate NYSC camps in the state. Officials say the permanent structure will enhance the overall experience for young Nigerians serving in the state.

The Niger State Government has reaffirmed its support for the National Youth Service Corps scheme. Residents and stakeholders are hopeful that the project will be delivered on schedule and meet the needs of future corps members.
