Anambra Launches Free Surgical Outreach for Women with Fibroids
The Anambra State Government has officially flagged off free surgical operations for women suffering from fibroids and ovarian cysts across the state.
Organized by the “Friends of Soludo” group to mark the birthdays of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, the healthcare outreach commenced at the Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital in Njikoka Local Government Area.
Chief Medical Officer of Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital, Dr. Dozie Udeolisa, described the intervention as a major relief for low-income women who had long postponed necessary medical procedures due to severe financial constraints.
The broader health initiative also encompasses free cataract surgeries, glaucoma treatments at the Anambra State Specialist Eye Centre in Nise, and hernia operations at the General Hospital in Umueri.
