Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Informants in Yobe Market

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected terrorist informants and cattle rustlers during a joint operation at the Buni Yadi Friday Market in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The operation was carried out on July 24 with support from local hunters acting on intelligence.

The suspects were identified as Muhammadu Sani, 32, from Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, and Buba Umaru, 40, from Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State. One of the suspects resisted arrest and attacked a hunter with a cutlass, causing severe head injuries before being overpowered by the troops.

Preliminary investigations showed that Muhammadu Sani confessed to working as a logistics supplier and informant for Boko Haram for nearly seven years. He also admitted leading terrorists to the homes of local residents where cattle were stolen during previous attacks.

The two men are currently in the custody of 27 Task Force Brigade and are undergoing further questioning. Officials say their confessions will help ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist support networks operating within communities in the North-East.

Security authorities praised the collaboration between troops and local hunters. They said operations will continue to target informants, logistics suppliers, and others who provide support to insurgents across the region.
