Advertising Professionals Chart Industry’s Future as AAAN Ends 53rd Congress
The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has concluded its 53rd Annual General Meeting and Congress with a gala and awards ceremony that recognised outstanding individuals and celebrated excellence across the advertising industry.
The two-day event, which ended on Friday in Lagos, attracted advertising practitioners, regulators, business executives, government officials and other industry stakeholders to deliberate on the future of advertising under the theme, “AdVolution: The End of Advertising as We Know It and How to Win What Comes Next.”
A major highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of the Rising Stars Awards to four emerging professionals for their creativity, innovation and contributions to the advertising profession.
The recipients were Tobi Adesina of Insight Publicis, Fuad Balogun of Noah’s Ark Communications, Anita Adekunle of Playhouse Communications and Olugbenga Jacobs of Ogilvy.
The association also posthumously honoured the late Mrs. Yinka Ogunde in recognition of her lasting impact on Nigeria’s advertising industry and the legacy she left behind.
In addition, Kelechi Nwosu received a special recognition award for his significant contributions to the growth and development of the advertising profession.
The congress, which began on Thursday, featured a business session where delegates considered reports from the association’s secretariat and committees. The programme also included the induction of new member agencies into the AAAN.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, AAAN President, Lanre Adisa, described the congress as a significant milestone for the industry, saying the discussions held during the event underscored the importance of embracing innovation while preserving the creativity and human insight that define effective advertising.
He encouraged practitioners to view the ongoing transformation of the industry as an opportunity to deliver greater value to brands, consumers and the broader economy.
