An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Thursday granted popular social media personality and relationship influencer, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, a bail of N20 million as she continues to battle two separate fraud cases instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, with the combined allegations against her now exceeding N105 million.

Justice Rahman Oshodi admitted the influencer to bail with two responsible sureties in like sum, despite noting that the prosecution did not oppose the bail application.

The judge explained that the court still had a duty to independently weigh the seriousness of the allegations and the punishment prescribed by law before exercising its discretion.

As part of the bail conditions, each surety was directed to provide a three year bank statement or proof of fixed deposits valued at N20 million, while the defendant and her sureties were also ordered to undergo screening through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System.

The court further directed the Nigerian Immigration Service to enforce travel restrictions against her pending the determination of the case, and the matter was adjourned to October 12 for continuation of trial.

The bail relates to a case in which the EFCC accused Blessing CEO of obtaining N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited under false pretences. According to the commission, she had claimed in March 2025 that she would secure the lease of a property in the Lekki area of Lagos for the company, an arrangement the EFCC said was never honoured. She was arraigned on a two count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to provisions of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State and the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act. She pleaded not guilty to both counts.

This case is separate from an earlier fraud matter already before another court, where Blessing CEO is facing allegations of obtaining N36 million from a complainant under similar circumstances involving a Lekki property. She had earlier been granted a N10 million bail in that case by the Federal High Court in Lagos, though she was briefly remanded after the EFCC said it lacked space to hold her in custody at the time. Her lawyer had informed the court that a substantial portion of the disputed sum had already been refunded to the complainant as part of efforts to resolve the matter.

With both cases now running concurrently in different courts, Blessing CEO’s legal troubles have become one of the most closely watched celebrity court stories in Nigeria, as she awaits further proceedings in October.
