DSS Rescues Four Abducted Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Students, Arrests Suspect
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have rescued the four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were abducted by gunmen in Zamfara State earlier this month.
The students regained their freedom during an intelligence-led operation carried out late Wednesday. Security operatives also arrested one suspected kidnapper, while other members of the gang were neutralised. No ransom was paid to secure the students’ release.
The victims were among six students kidnapped on June 3 when armed bandits invaded their off-campus residence in the Low-Cost area of Kaura Namoda town.
Two of the abducted students had earlier been released, while security agencies continued efforts to rescue the remaining four.
The latest operation brings an end to the abduction, with all six students now reunited with their families following the DSS intervention.
