Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised a suspected ISWAP fighter during a coordinated surveillance and air interdiction operation in the Marte axis of Borno State. The operation was carried out after intelligence sources detected the movement of suspected terrorists toward the Marte general area.

Personnel at Forward Operating Bases Logomani and Gajibo spotted the suspects at about 6:46 p.m. on July 17.

This prompted the deployment of an aerial platform that tracked the movement of the terrorists. One terrorist riding a motorcycle was engaged with a precision strike, killing him instantly.

Ground troops later moved to exploit the target area and recovered four rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition believed to have belonged to the neutralised terrorist.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to degrade the capabilities of ISWAP and other terrorist groups in the North-East.

The successful strike highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the use of air assets in counter-terrorism efforts.

Troops continue to dominate the area and maintain pressure on the terrorists. The recovered ammunition will be analysed as part of broader intelligence gathering.

Security forces remain committed to restoring peace and stability in Borno State and other affected areas. Residents are encouraged to provide timely information to support military operations against terrorism. The incident is the latest in a series of successful operations against ISWAP in the region.
