Nollywood actors, Lateef Adedimeji and Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman will headline Black Market, a forthcoming feature film whose producers are planning a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest audience at a single film screening.

Rixel Studios announced on Thursday that the movie will premiere on September 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, with organisers aiming to attract 50,000 attendees.

According to the producers, the turnout target is expected to surpass the current Guinness World Record of about 43,000 people gathered for a single film screening.

The record attempt is being organised in partnership with FilmOne Studios and Switch Visuals Production.

Black Market is Rixel Studios’ second feature film, following the release of Red Circle in 2025. The movie was written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, who also directed the production. Filming took place in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The cast also features Ibrahim Yekini (Itele D Icon), Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, Uzor Arukwe, Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Shamz Garuba and Adeoluwa Akintoba.

Speaking on the project, Rixel Studios’ founder, Nora Awolowo, said the planned record attempt reflects the company’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries following the success of its debut feature film.

Chief Content Officer of FilmOne Studios, Ladun Awobokun, described the initiative as an opportunity to showcase Nollywood on the global stage, while Chief Executive Officer of Switch Visuals Production, Damilola Osikoya, said the collaboration highlights the potential of young filmmakers working together.

Director Fatimah Gimsay said the production team focused on creating an entertaining film and expressed optimism about sharing it with audiences at the planned premiere.
