Tinubu Never Abandoned FCT, Always Released Funds on Time, Says Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support of the FCT Administration, stating that the President has consistently ensured the timely release of funds for the execution of critical infrastructure projects in the nation's capital.

Wike made the remarks during the commissioning of projects in Abuja, where he attributed the rapid pace of infrastructure development across the Federal Capital Territory to the Federal Government's commitment to prompt funding and effective project implementation.

According to the minister, President Tinubu has never abandoned the FCT since assuming office, noting that approved funds for projects have been released without unnecessary delays, allowing contractors to execute their work according to schedule. "The President has never abandoned us.

He has always released funds on time, and that is why we have been able to deliver these projects for the benefit of residents," Wike said.

The minister explained that the Tinubu administration's commitment to due process, accountability and continuity in governance has made it possible to complete several inherited projects while simultaneously embarking on new ones aimed at improving transportation, public services and economic activities within the FCT.

He noted that the administration's infrastructure drive has resulted in the construction and rehabilitation of major roads, bridges, water supply facilities and other public infrastructure across Abuja and its satellite communities.

Wike stressed that the visible transformation taking place in the Federal Capital Territory reflects President Tinubu's determination to improve the living standards of residents through sustained investment in infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also dismissed criticisms of the administration's performance, insisting that completed and ongoing projects serve as evidence of the government's commitment to delivering on its promises.

The FCT Administration has in recent months commissioned several landmark projects, with the Federal Government maintaining that continued investment in infrastructure remains central to its strategy for promoting economic growth, improving urban mobility and enhancing service delivery in the nation's capital.
