Lagos Council Chairman, Kolade Alabi, slumps at APC meeting

A tense situation occurred at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Wednesday when Kolade Alabi, the Chairman of Bariga Local Government Area, suddenly collapsed while speaking to party stakeholders. The event took place around 12:10 pm and shocked everyone present, leading to immediate reactions from those in attendance.
As reported by eyewitnesses, Alabi, who also serves as the state chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), lost consciousness unexpectedly during his speech and fell to the floor. The room went quiet as party members rushed to assist him, providing first aid and trying to revive him.
After a few anxious moments, Alabi regained consciousness, and an ambulance was called to transport him to a nearby hospital for additional care. The meeting of stakeholders was briefly halted as party members showed their concern for Alabi’s health.
“We are all grateful he is getting the medical help he requires,” stated a party spokesperson. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time. We wish him a quick recovery and hope to see him back to full health soon.”
The reason behind Alabi’s sudden fainting spell has not yet been revealed, and officials are waiting for medical test results to identify any underlying issues. However, sources close to the party have suggested that Alabi has been experiencing significant stress, managing his duties as both the local government chairman and the state ALGON chairman.
As word of the incident circulated, party members and supporters took to social media to voice their concerns and extend well-wishes to Alabi. The atmosphere at the APC Secretariat in Ikeja was one of trepidation as members tried to process the unexpected occurrence.
