I Am President Tinubu’s Only Anointed Candidate, APC Flagbearer Oyebamiji Declares

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that he remains the sole anointed governorship candidate of President Bola Tinubu for the upcoming August 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.

Oyebamiji made the statement to clear the air regarding internal party dynamics and multi-factional maneuvers within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He insisted that his political ambition is fully backed by the presidency, anchoring his claim on his long-standing track record of loyalty to the progressive fold and his administrative performance both at the state and federal levels.

The NIWA boss, who previously served as the Commissioner for Finance in Osun State under the administrations of Rauf Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola, emerged as the APC’s official flagbearer following a consensus arrangement and affirmation primary overseen by the party’s national leadership. Oyebamiji emphasized that his selection was a product of strategic alignment to reclaim the state for the APC, dismissing speculations of any division within the presidency regarding support for his candidature.

While rallying party faithful and stakeholders to close ranks ahead of the main election, Oyebamiji reiterated that his primary focus is to unite all aggrieved blocks within the Osun APC. He maintained that the collective goal of the party must remain supreme to ensure a successful campaign against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, positioning himself as the unifying figure trusted by the national leadership to deliver victory at the polls.
