Late Gen Rabe’s Son Disputes Father Had Diabetes, Says Mother Still in Captivity
One of the sons of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar has come out to say his father was not diabetic or suffering from high blood pressure. This contradicts claims made by the Katsina State government about the cause of the retired general’s death.
The family member, Isyaka Rabe, made the statement during an interview.
Isyaka explained that his father lived a simple and religious life. He described him as a peace-loving man who died a hero. Some people believe the late general may have been bitten by a snake while in captivity, based on a video released by the kidnappers, but the family says only God knows the real cause of death.
He also revealed that his mother, who was kidnapped along with his father on May 30, 2026, is still being held by the abductors. This dismisses earlier reports on social media that she had been released. The family continues to pray for her safe return.
The late general and his wife were abducted along the Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli Road in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. He later died in the hands of his captors. The incident has left the family grieving while seeking answers about how his body was recovered.
This sad situation highlights the ongoing security challenges in parts of the country, especially with kidnappings affecting families. Many hope the authorities will do more to rescue those still in captivity and bring the perpetrators to justice. The family’s call for truth serves as a reminder of the pain caused by such crimes.
