Delta Police Command Rescues Hostage, Apprehend Three Robbery Suspects

The Delta State Police Command have successfully rescued a kidnap victim and apprehended three suspected armed robbers in separate operations carried out across the state.

The security breakthroughs were confirmed in an official briefing by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, who reiterated the police’s commitment to eradicating violent crimes within the state.

According to operational reports, police operatives responded swiftly to a distress call regarding the abduction of a citizen by an armed gang along a major transit corridor in the state.

Tactical units, working in tandem with local vigilante groups, mobilized immediately and trailed the suspects to a nearby dense vegetation zone. Realizing they were being closed in upon by superior security forces, the kidnappers abandoned their captive and fled deeper into the forest. The victim was successfully rescued entirely unhurt and has since been reunited with their family following a routine medical assessment.

In a parallel operation aimed at curbing urban criminality, police detectives raided a strategic location following actionable intelligence regarding a three-man armed robbery syndicate terrorizing residents and shop owners.

The three suspects were cornered and taken into custody during the targeted sweep. A thorough search conducted by the field team led to the recovery of dangerous weapons and various incriminating items used in their criminal operations.

The Delta State Police Command noted that the three suspects have made useful statements to investigators, adding that they will be formally arraigned in court once preliminary investigations are fully wrapped up.
