Gov Umo Eno Will Perform Better Under APC, Says Essien

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Vincent Essien, has stated that Akwa Ibom state will experience unprecedented growth and development if Governor Umo Eno defects to the ruling party.
Essien, a renowned legal practitioner, made this assertion in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, citing the governor’s impressive track record of infrastructural and human development in the state.
According to Essien, Governor Umo Eno’s defection to the APC would not only strengthen the state’s connection to the center but also attract significant investments in human and infrastructural development.
“Knowing Governor Umo Eno, and watching his determined focus on elevating the status and development of the state, any decision he makes will not be driven by mere political considerations,” he said.
Essien highlighted the governor’s remarkable achievements in the past two years, including the transformation of the state’s political landscape into a unified entity, devoid of party affiliations.
“His open declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu is unprecedented and a clear political masterstroke that will attract massive Federal government presence and development to the state,” he maintained.
The APC chieftain cited several examples of the governor’s efforts to secure federal government intervention in key projects, including the reconstruction of the long-stalled Calabar-Itu Federal Highway, the collaboration to secure the start of the Coastal Highway from Calabar through Oron in Akwa Ibom, and the renewed push for the actualization of the Ibom Deep Sea port.
“These are just a few examples of the accelerated benefits that will occur to the state if Governor Umo Eno defects to the APC,” he said.
Essien emphasized the need for all stakeholders, regardless of their political affiliations, to rally behind the governor to ensure the success of his development projects.
“So far, the governor’s focus on uniting the state and accelerating the pace of development has been outstanding, so there is a need for all to queue behind him to ensure he succeeds in this project,” he said.
