No Factions in Bayelsa PDP Insists Party

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has categorically denied the existence of factions within the party, urging the public to disregard reports suggesting otherwise.

The party’s spokesman, Ebiye Ogoli, made this clarification in response to allegations of a factional PDP in the state.

Ogoli’s statement comes on the heels of a reported rift within the party, with some individuals claiming to represent a faction of the PDP in Bayelsa. However, Ogoli has dismissed these claims, stating that the party remains united and intact.

In a related development, Ogoli also addressed reports that Governor Douye Diri had sacked some of his political aides for attending a rally organized in support of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. The reported faction, led by one Derri Wright, had condemned the alleged sacking of the aides.

However, Ogoli swiftly debunked the report, revealing that Wright’s group was not a recognized faction of the PDP in Bayelsa. Instead, he described them as supporters of Wike, who are not affiliated with the official PDP structure in the state.

Ogoli’s clarification has brought much-needed clarity to the situation, putting to rest speculations about the existence of factions within the Bayelsa PDP. The party’s spokesman has reassured the public that the PDP in Bayelsa remains united and focused on its goals, with no room for divisions or factions.

As the political landscape in Bayelsa continues to evolve, the PDP’s assertion of unity and cohesion is likely to have significant implications for the party’s future prospects in the state. With the party’s leadership reaffirming its commitment to unity, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the political dynamics in Bayelsa.
