Peter Obi is the Future of Nigeria in 2027,.other Candidates are Fake, Says Sowunmi

As the political tempo begins to rise ahead of the 2027 general elections, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has declared that the future of Nigeria rests on the shoulders of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Sowunmi described Obi as the only authentic option among emerging candidates, branding others as “fake” and unfit to drive the kind of transformational leadership Nigeria desperately needs.

“Nigeria deserves a credible, competent and compassionate leader. Peter Obi stands out. The rest are simply fake — self-serving individuals with no real agenda for the country,” Sowunmi asserted.

The PDP stalwart, who previously served as a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, revealed he is currently spearheading a new political movement known as The Alternative, aimed at mobilizing grassroots support for credible leaders across the country.

According to him, this movement seeks to dismantle the old political order dominated by opportunistic elites.

Peter Obi, who ran a strong campaign in the 2023 elections, continues to command a loyal base of supporters known as the Obidient Movement.

While he has yet to declare his 2027 ambition, Obi has emphasized his focus on solving Nigeria’s core challenges, including insecurity, hunger, and corruption.

In a recent interview, Obi stated:
“I will support any coalition or alliance that puts Nigeria and its people first. My priority is not personal ambition but national transformation.”

The Obidient Movement has urged Nigerians to remain firm in their support, reiterating that with Obi, “a new Nigeria is not just possible — it is necessary.”

Sowunmi’s endorsement of Obi also comes amid ongoing discussions about a possible realignment among Nigeria’s major opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi. Political analysts believe such a coalition could challenge the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, though questions remain about the feasibility due to trust issues and conflicting interests.

Despite these uncertainties, Sowunmi insisted that Nigerians must rally behind leadership that reflects integrity, vision, and a proven track record of service.

“This is not about party loyalty anymore. It’s about Nigeria. The time to save this country is now, and Peter Obi represents our best chance,” he said.

As 2027 draws closer, the political landscape appears to be shifting, and with growing endorsements like Sowunmi’s, Peter Obi’s relevance in national politics continues to strengthen.
