Tinubu Returns to Lagos After Visits to France, Kenya, Rwanda

Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Lagos on Friday evening following a diplomatic tour of France, Kenya and Rwanda.

The President’s aircraft reportedly landed at about 7:12 p.m. at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.

According to a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President was welcomed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and other senior officials.

During his visit to France, Tinubu reportedly met with international investors where he highlighted his administration’s economic reforms, focusing on transparency, fiscal discipline and policies aimed at stabilising Nigeria’s economy.

The President also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, an event co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto. At the summit, Tinubu advocated reforms to the global financial system and called for stronger economic integration across Africa.

He further promoted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to support Gulf of Guinea countries through the sharing of maritime intelligence infrastructure.

While in Nairobi, Tinubu also held bilateral talks with Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, the Nigerian leader participated in the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors and business executives, where discussions centred on regional integration and investment opportunities across the continent.

Tinubu also met with Paul Kagame and representatives of organisations including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and Winme Group. The Presidency stated that the meetings produced positive outcomes.

The statement added that the President is expected to participate in the forthcoming primaries of the All Progressives Congress scheduled to begin on Saturday in Lagos.

Tinubu also reportedly urged party members to conduct themselves peacefully and prioritise the unity of the party and the country.
