Anambra Police Nab Suspected Kidnappers, Cultists in Targeted Raid

In a major breakthrough, the Anambra State Police Command have announced the arrest of two suspected kidnappers and cultists in the Otolo-Nnewi area of the state.
The operation, which took place on Thursday at approximately 1:45 p.m., resulted in the recovery of a foreign-made pistol, three live rounds of ammunition, and a lady’s motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.
According to a statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects were identified as Ani Obinna, 21, and Okwudili Ezike, 43, both males. The arrest was made possible through a hot pursuit by police operatives acting on credible intelligence, which led to the busting of a criminal hideout in Nnewi.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of a secret cult and a kidnapping gang, providing valuable information that is currently being worked on by the police to dismantle their criminal network and apprehend other members of the gang.
The police spokesperson, SP Ikenga, stated that the command has sustained security patrols in the area and is committed to fostering a secure environment for meaningful work and businesses to thrive in the state.
