Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest for the Senate seat. He made the announcement while speaking to journalists after completing the submission process.

The senator said his mission is to give the people of FCT better representation at the National Assembly.

Senator Jibrin Wowo acknowledged that he is not the only aspirant, noting that there are about four people contesting. He stressed that the people of FCT will decide who represents them at the end of the day.

He expressed confidence that his past experience and performance will help him win the trust of the voters.

The senator revealed that he had served in the Senate before the current occupant, who has been there for almost 12 years. He urged the people to judge all aspirants based on their scorecard and achievements. According to him, performance and verifiable records should be the main criteria for selection.

Senator Usman said he is ready to abide by the party’s constitution, whether the primary is direct or indirect. He promised to focus on delivering democracy dividends such as infrastructure development, proper representation, and empowerment programmes that will improve the lives of FCT residents if given the mandate.

The development has added fresh momentum to political activities in the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2027 elections. Many residents are now watching closely to see how the race for the FCT senatorial seat unfolds. Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo’s ambition reflects his desire to return to the Senate and continue serving his people.
