Akojenu Promises Empowerment, Youth Development for Ipokia/Yewa South
Honorable Abraham Akojenu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the House of Representatives, has officially declared his intention to represent Ipokia and Yewa South Federal Constituency in Ogun State.
In a recent interview during the APC sale of nomination forms, he introduced himself as a young and energetic politician who is committed to serving his people with practical solutions.
Akojenu highlighted what makes his candidacy different. He has already been involved in several empowerment programmes, including providing startup capital for businesses, organising free medical checkups and supplying medicines, offering rural transportation support for farmers, and partnering with entertainment groups to promote the community.
He emphasised his style of listening to the people and taking practical steps to solve their problems rather than criticising others.
When asked about the major problem in his constituency, Akojenu pointed to the border fuel sales restriction policy. He explained that the rule, which stops fuel sales within 20 kilometres of the border, forces residents to travel long distances and buy fuel at higher prices. If elected, he promised to push the federal government to review this policy, arguing that security in the area is now adequate.
The aspirant also addressed the large population of young people in the constituency. He said he plans to engage youths meaningfully in politics so they can benefit from government programmes.
Akojenu described himself as a listening and accessible leader who moves freely among the people, using motorcycles and walking through communities to understand their challenges first-hand.
Looking ahead, Honorable Abraham Akojenu unveiled his plan to launch an “Employ the Youth” programme if elected. The initiative aims to create jobs and keep young people busy, thereby reducing social problems caused by unemployment.
His message of practical leadership and direct empowerment has already started generating interest among voters in the federal constituency.
