Wike May Destabilise Nigeria, Tinubu Will Be Blamed, Warns Bode George
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has issued a strong warning that any political instability allegedly linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, would ultimately be blamed on President Bola Tinubu if not properly addressed.
George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, described Wike as a “political undertaker and an agent provocateur,” accusing him of actions capable of deepening political tension in the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Wike’s involvement in supporting candidates and factions outside the official structure of the PDP raises serious questions about party loyalty and democratic stability.
He says he is a member of the PDP, yet he supported and nominated candidates from the APC in key elections. This contradiction is dangerous for democracy,” George stated.
The PDP elder further alleged that the ongoing internal crisis within the opposition party is being fuelled by external political interests, warning that such interference could weaken Nigeria’s democratic structure if not checked.
George also urged President Tinubu to caution the FCT Minister, insisting that failure to control his political conduct could have national consequences.
Wike needs to be cautioned by the President. If he continues on this path and it destabilises the country, it will be the President’s responsibility,” he warned. He further stressed that political actors must respect party discipline and constitutional order, noting that no individual should be allowed to act above institutions for personal or political advantage.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions within the PDP, where factional disputes and leadership struggles have continued to shape internal party dynamics ahead of future elections.
