Exposing the Kangaroo President: How Atiku’s Ally is Using Misinformation to Discredit the Tinubu Administration
By Comrade Bamidele Ayotebi
In recent days, the political atmosphere in Nigeria has been rattled by a bizarre sequence of events involving Comrade Atiku Isah, a self-proclaimed leader of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NASS). But make no mistake Isah is a kangaroo president, falsely parading himself as the head of the student body while pushing a dangerous narrative aimed at undermining the credibility of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s family.
Isah’s outrageous accusations that Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, orchestrated an assault, a kidnapping attempt, and even planned his assassination have made headlines. But investigations by Unfiltered Reporting quickly exposed the truth: Comrade Atiku Isah was never elected or sworn in as NASS president. The legitimate president is Comrade Olushola Oladoja, whose inauguration was attended by governors, ministers, and dignitaries. The event even saw the Kwara State Governor honored as a “Lifetime Patriot” on behalf of the presidency.
Despite the clear and legitimate transition, the kangaroo president has continued to stage a parallel and illegal leadership, operating without mandate or credibility. What’s more concerning is that this impostor is not acting alone he is backed by none other than Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a known political rival of President Tinubu.
Photos of Atiku Isah with the Vice President have gone viral online, and just two days ago, Atiku Abubakar himself posted a tweet calling Isah the “President of NASS” a deliberate move that legitimizes his false claim. The affiliation is unmistakable: this kangaroo presidency is politically aligned with Atiku Abubakar, whose platform has long been used to criticize the current administration and push anti-Tinubu rhetoric.
This development cannot be taken lightly. Vice President Atiku has refused to extend goodwill to the President during national milestones, consistently opposing his policies in public forums. Now, with a kangaroo student leader in his corner spreading inflammatory and unverified allegations, the strategy seems clear: use chaos and misinformation to destabilize the administration from within.
It is one thing to engage in opposition politics; it is another to hijack student institutions, forge leadership identities, and weaponize falsehoods for political gain. Comrade Atiku Isah’s kangaroo presidency is not only illegitimate but also dangerous, serving as a puppet arm in a broader campaign of defamation.
Nigerians must be vigilant. Youth platforms should never be reduced to political pawns. The relevant authorities must urgently investigate these affiliations and dismantle this false structure before it causes further harm to the integrity of national student representation.
The message is simple: no kangaroo government, no matter how loud or politically backed, can replace truth and legitimate leadership.
