Adeleke Campaign Alleges Political Banishment of Accord Supporter in Osun
The campaign organisation of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over the alleged banishment of an Accord Party supporter from Ilase in Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
The campaign’s spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, alleged that Adeola Adegoke was forced to leave the community because of her political affiliation.
Olajengbesi claimed that Adegoke’s shop was looted before she and her mother were summoned and allegedly instructed to leave the community unless she agreed to support certain political interests.
According to the campaign, Adegoke agreed to back Senator Fadahunsi but declined to campaign for Wole Oke, after which she was allegedly ordered to leave Ilase.
Olajengbesi described the development as unacceptable, arguing that political differences should not be used to intimidate citizens, restrict their freedom or threaten their means of livelihood.
He called on Fadahunsi and Oke to clarify whether they were aware of or authorised the alleged actions, urging them to take steps against anyone acting in their names without approval.
The campaign spokesman maintained that no Nigerian should be harassed, punished or deprived of their livelihood because of their political choice.
The allegations had not been independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the two politicians named in the claims.
