Boss Mustapha Marks 70th Birthday, Donates Library to Lutheran University
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has donated a modern library complex to the proposed Lutheran University Nigeria in Adamawa State as part of activities marking his 70th birthday.
The facility was officially handed over during a ceremony attended by religious leaders, government officials and members of the community.
The library, named the Wesley Mustapha Library Complex in honour of his late father, is expected to serve as a major academic resource for students and researchers when the university begins full operations.
Speaking at the event, Mustapha encouraged young Nigerians to remain focused on education, hard work and perseverance, noting that personal background should never be allowed to limit ambition or success. He said his own journey from humble beginnings to national public service demonstrates the importance of determination and dedication.
He explained that the donation was part of his commitment to supporting education and human capital development, particularly in Northern Nigeria, where access to quality educational facilities remains a priority.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri commended the former SGF for the gesture, describing the library as a valuable contribution that would strengthen the foundation of the proposed institution and benefit future generations.
The Lutheran University project is being developed by the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria and is expected to expand higher education opportunities in the region.
The donation formed one of several events organised to celebrate Mustapha’s 70th birthday, with political leaders, former heads of state and other prominent Nigerians paying tribute to his years of public service and contributions to national development.
