Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has approved ₦25 billion for the construction of dedicated residential quarters for judges to enhance their working and living environment.

Following a State Executive Council meeting, Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy Declan Emelumba disclosed that the new estate will feature 40 standard duplexes equipped with recreational facilities.

Beyond judicial infrastructure, the council approved ₦1.9 billion to establish four computer-based test (CBT) centres in the Orlu zone to ease JAMB examination logistics, releasing an initial ₦900 million to commence pilot projects at Bishop Shanahan Secondary School and Community Secondary School, Omuma.

The administration also authorized the creation of Imo Signage Asset Management Limited, a public-private partnership financed entirely by private investors to deploy Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled digital billboards. Additionally, Governor Uzodimma swore in Longers Anyanwu as the new Commissioner for Agriculture, while directing immediate state interventions to tackle worsening soil erosion across affected communities.
