Kaduna Lawmakers Promise Accelerated Development on Securing APC Re-election Tickets
Lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State have pledged to intensify development efforts across their constituencies after clinching the party’s re-election tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The legislators, including Speaker Dahiru Liman, Deputy Speaker Henry Danjuma, and Majority Leader Munira Suleiman Tanimu, emerged as APC candidates through consensus arrangements during the party’s recently concluded primaries in the state.
Speaking shortly after securing his ticket for Makera Constituency, Liman expressed appreciation to party stakeholders and constituents for their continued support, assuring that his next term would focus on delivering more impactful projects.
He emphasized priorities such as infrastructure development, improved access to education, and better healthcare services. Similarly, Danjuma, who represents Kagarko Constituency, pledged to strengthen legislative backing for rural development initiatives and security interventions.
He noted that sustained collaboration with the executive arm would be key to addressing challenges affecting communities across the state. Tanimu, on her part, reiterated her commitment to inclusive representation, particularly in advancing women-focused empowerment programmes and youth development initiatives. She said her re-election bid would build on ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for vulnerable groups.
The emergence of the lawmakers followed a consensus-driven process endorsed by party leaders, including Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. The approach, party officials say, was aimed at fostering unity and avoiding internal disputes ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Political analysts note that the return of key Assembly leaders could strengthen the APC’s foothold in Kaduna State, especially as political activities gradually intensify nationwide in preparation for the 2027 elections.
The APC primaries across the country have produced mixed outcomes, with several incumbents retaining their tickets while others lost out, underscoring increasing competition within the ruling party.
