2027: APC Will Fail Integrity, Credibility Test in 2027, Says ADC Chieftain

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ladan Salihu, has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will fail the test of integrity and credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that growing public anger and frustration could work against the party at the polls.

Salihu made the statement while reacting to the political climate in the country and the performance of the APC-led federal government under President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, many Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current economic situation, rising cost of living and insecurity, which he said may shape voter decisions in the next election. He argued that the APC would struggle to defend its record before Nigerians when the time comes for another nationwide vote.

Salihu maintained that citizens are increasingly demanding accountability, transparency and improved governance from elected leaders. The ADC chieftain also said opposition parties are preparing to offer Nigerians an alternative platform in 2027, adding that the electorate may seek a change if present challenges persist.

The APC has yet to officially respond to the remarks, but leaders of the ruling party have repeatedly defended the Tinubu administration’s policies, saying current reforms are necessary to stabilise the economy and reposition the country for long-term growth.

With more than a year to major campaign activities, analysts believe debates over governance, economic reforms, security and electoral credibility will dominate Nigeria’s political landscape as the 2027 elections approach.
