NDLEA Arrests 21 Suspects in Kano Drug Raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested 21 suspects during a coordinated raid across multiple locations in Kano State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the agency’s Kano Strategic Command, through its Public Relations Officer Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari, said the operation also led to the recovery of various illicit substances and locally made weapons.

The raids targeted several identified drug hotspots, including Filin Idi, Hotoro, Mariri, Fagge, Farm Center and Zaria Road areas of the state.

According to the statement, substances seized during the operation include cannabis, pregabalin, codeine based cough syrup and rubber solution commonly used as an inhalant.

The agency added that some of the suspects attempted to resist arrest using locally made weapons but were subdued and taken into custody by operatives.

It noted that investigations are ongoing to identify key figures in the drug trade and to prepare cases for prosecution.

The command reaffirmed its resolve to combat drug related crimes and safeguard communities, particularly young people, from the dangers of substance abuse.

It also appealed to residents to support enforcement efforts by providing useful information and cooperating with authorities.
